Cioppino and Vino is set for Saturday, January 28th, 2012. It’s the major fundraising event of the year for the Rotary Club of Monterey Pacific. Join us for all the Phil’s Fish Market Cioppino you can eat, wine, appetizers and a lot of fun.
We’ve been dishing up cioppino for four years, and we’ve used the money we’ve raised to fund projects here in the Monterey area and around the world.
Books and Scholarships for Local Students: Two college scholarships and hundreds of dictionaries and thesauruses were presented to students at several Seaside schools by the Rotary Club of Monterey Pacific recently.
Dorothy’s Place: Monterey Pacific Rotary collected new, useful items for Dorothy’s Place in Salinas, supporting this vital local non-profit with a summer gift exchange. Dorothy’s Place has been serving the homeless and other marginalized populations in Monterey County for nearly 30 years.
The Gateway Center: We put on an annual prom night for residents at the Gateway Center, a sheltered living facility in Pacific Grove that serves adults with developmental disabilities. It’s the best party of the year, for both residents and Rotarians
Post Natal Testing Program in Manila: Thanks largely to money contributed by people in the Monterey Peninsula community, $13,000 has been sent to the Rotary Club of Sampaguita Grace Park in the Philippines to fund a medical testing program for newborn infants.
Our club meets Thursday evenings at 5:15 p.m. at the Casa Munras Hotel, 700 Munras Avenue in downtown Monterey. As a chartered club of Rotary International, the Rotary Club of Monterey Pacific is part of a world wide network of business, professional and government leaders, working together toward the common goal of a better world.
